Chi is a fictional character in Chobits. She is a personal computer but with full emotions, she can love others and have sadness and happiness. In fact, she is type of computer that is far more technologically advanced than others, and you can also say that she is lovely and emotional girl.
She is a technologically advanced personal computer, but when Hideki found her in a pile of trash and took her home, the only word she is able to say being “chi”, and then it’s her name. At first, she has difficulty to communicate with him, but slowly she learns how to speak. Chi remembers nothing of her past life and is unable to perform simple tasks, so Hideki takes it upon himself to teach her and take care of her, and chi proceeds to learning about the environment around her, and the process is interesting as Chi makes many humorous mistakes. As to me, I prefer to call her a lovely girl, at first she is interesting about everything, and names everything Hideki.
With the time flies, Chi and Hideki build profound feelings. Chi also adapts herself in the new environment slowly, but the process is hard, she try to find a job, and even be kidnapped during a solitary trip. All those experiences make her grow up embrace human’s emotions. Chi loves Hideki, maybe Hideki loves her too, but the feeling is hard to tell clearly. Many girls believe that Hideki loves Chi, and they hope the two to have a happy ending. In the anima Chi’s costume is very beautiful, girls can take the chance to act as Chi and experience Chi’s inner side in her position.
